The project aims to design an elementary school in Marsassoum, Senegal, where only 50% of school-age children have access to education, and classrooms are overcrowded with up to 80 students due to limited structures. The existing school is in poor condition with bamboo walls and zinc roofs, leading to classrooms being unable to withstand the rainy season, causing class cancellations and academic setbacks for students. The project seeks to research innovative and cost-effective construction techniques to replace the temporary school with permanent built structures.
