National Museum of World Writing
The planned location for the National Museum of World Writing is in Songdo, Incheon, South Korea. Songdo is a newly developed city resulting from reclamation projects in the 2000s, strategically located as an economic free zone behind Incheon International Airport. The museum is proposed to be situated within Songdo's Central Park, which currently remains vacant and serves as a walking trail. The site is flat and elongated, bordered by an 8-lane road to the north and an artificial waterway to the south. The surrounding area of Central Park is densely populated with apartment-style residential complexes, hotels, and office buildings.
The museum aims to become a prominent cultural facility in Songdo, functioning as a hub for knowledge and culture while visually harmonizing with the context. The design prioritizes the accessibility of the building, ensuring smooth pathways for vehicular and pedestrian access, connections from the subway station, and easy access from the Central Park's walking trail. The main entrance and two secondary entrances create a simple geometric layout of nodes (main facilities) connected by masses to form the overall volume.

The three-story museum's design assumes a low-rise character compared to the neighboring high-rise buildings, and the roof is considered as an additional facade to exhibit a dynamic and versatile appearance. The roof levels are adjusted to extend the internal exhibition pathways to the exterior, inviting active use of the roof space. The landscape design complements these considerations.
The proposal takes into account Songdo's context and user circulation, aiming to create a building that offers not only opportunities for knowledge and cultural rest and rejuvenation but also physical and visual relaxation and recharging for visitors.
