The Sliced House

The Sliced House, House Typology
Seoul, 2014
Program: Small House
Team : Sang Dae Lee

A typology for the modern small urban house, the Sliced House (SH) a design response to the evolving population needs and economics driving urban development. Expanding vertically on small, narrow urban plots, the SH creates rich and dynamic spaces within each unit. As a new typology for collective urban housing, the SH achieves a successful synthesis of functional density and open character. The economy of the simple modular form enables a rich variety of multi-housing configurations which balance public and private realms, as well as the uniqueness of the site with the needs of the community.
