Marine Media City Master Plan

People often travel to escape or discover new destinations. The ubiquity of the Internet and smartphones has reshaped our perception of time and place. The recent global pandemic has compelled us to rethink the notion of physical and social ways of life, prompting a quest for novel environments. Individuals yearn for a daily setting where cultural, residential, and lodging facilities intertwine, mirroring the spirit of the new era. A demand arises for a versatile cultural venue unbound by temporal and spatial constraints, harmoniously integrated with the natural surroundings and conveniently accessible in everyday life.

Consequently, we propose the creation of a marine media center encompassing exhibition and experiential spaces, media-focused theaters, as well as residential accommodations that maximize the proximity to

cultural facilities and offer scenic ocean views. Our objective is to establish an identity that resonates with both the citizens of Busan and travelers, transcending the confines of the complex and catering to a wider audience. By hosting events in these cultural facilities, providing top-notch lodging, and offering flexible programming, we aspire to fashion a vibrant destination. Given the significance of social media in our lives today, we believe that the Maritime Media Center, with its programs tailored to the demands of the new era, will shape the identity of this place. Our proposal includes media museums, experiential halls, and theaters showcasing cutting-edge technologies such as media, online platforms, and artificial intelligence. Furthermore, we envision the inclusion of luxurious hotels and residential facilities capable of accommodating visitors.
